Southwest Georgia Project

In 1967 my  husband Glen and I were recruited by Rev. Charles Sherrod to go work in the Civil Rights Movement in SW Georgia. Glen was a student at Union Theological Seminary and I at NY  Univ. We stayed for a year and then returned to New York to finish our education.

We  returned in 1970 to continue for another year and a half.  Here are some of the art works produced during that time.  Much of this work is in the permanent collection of the Library of Congress.

    "One More River to Cross"

This powerful film was my husband's first film.  It gives a glimpse of the difficult times
